This beautiful Ann Arbor home sat on a corner lot in a prime location but lacked privacy. The Ventures team brought new life and functionality to the space. For privacy, a brick wall was constructed around the lot with vertical accent pillars and an attached cedar pergola. The cedar from the pergola was carried throughout the design with horizontal wooden gates, utility meter covers, and an accent wall with built-in bench seating. The existing poured concrete slab was replaced by pavers with artificial turf inlays, for a low-maintenance, grass block look. Two of the house’s existing windows were expanded into sliding glass doors leading to the patio. As you step onto the patio you’re greeted by a fire pit with built-in seating and an oversized spa with a beautiful sheer descent water feature, auto cover, brick encasement, and limestone coping. To the right is an outdoor kitchen below the modern pergola. The open U kitchen, built from brick with a black leathered granite bar, features a grill, refrigerator, storage, ample bar seating, and a mounted all-weather TV.

Two steps with limestone coping lead from the patio down to a private putting green. The utility meters along the side of the house and putting green are covered with a wooden partition. Reflecting the cedar from the pergola and gates, the partitions blend seamlessly with the design and can easily be opened to access the meters.

Another example of a small space with a huge transformation!
