Giving Thanks: A Gratitude-filled Journey with Our Clients

Reflecting on a Year of Incredible Opportunities

Every year as we reflect on the projects we’ve built and the growth of Ventures, there’s one thing that stands out: You. Without the trust of our clients, none of this would be possible. The process of building a custom outdoor living space is lengthy. From the initial design meeting to project completion, we often work with a given client for 6 months or more. During that time we build a relationship based on trust and mutual respect. Our clients trust us not only with their investment, but with their homes, the most important place in their lives, and that’s not something we take lightly. Being trusted to bring your outdoor living dreams to fruition is an honor.

The Transformative Power of Outdoor Living Spaces:

We often describe our work as transforming properties into outdoor oases, but the transformation goes beyond the physical space. When you invest in an outdoor living space you’re really investing in a lifestyle. Nothing brings us more joy than hearing stories from past clients of the memories they’re making in their new outdoor living spaces; from hosting graduation parties, family gatherings, weddings, family reunions and even a 100th birthday celebration. Whether you’re relaxing after a long day of work or hosting a special celebration, it’s the time spent enjoying your home that really matters.

Appreciating Design Collaborations:

It’s fair to say we have some of the best clients around. We are privileged to work with families who are looking to build something unique that marries functionality with one-of-a-kind design elements. We’re always researching new design possibilities and have a running list of awesome features we can’t wait to incorporate into the right project. But at the end of the day, each project is a shared vision. The enthusiasm and creativity of our clients is an inspiration and often pushes us to new innovation. “As a fully custom design and build company, everything we do is one of a kind, but a lot of the elements are repeated; an infinity pool, an outdoor kitchen. From time to time, a client will have an idea for something we’ve never done before and that’s when things get really fun. It’s an awesome challenge.” says designer Brandon Bertrang “We’re working on a build right now with a fully custom rain curtain that we’re fabricating ourselves. We’ve incorporated plenty of cool water features into our builds, where a pre-fabricated system like deck jets, a sheer descent waterfall or Fire & Water bowls are incorporated. But this design is different. It’s a sculptural rain curtain that pours into a knife-edge pool ( a pool where the surface of the water is completely level with the surrounding coping and patio). There’s nothing like it in the pre-fab market so we are working with a machinist to fabricate it in-house.”

It’s not unusual for a client to have an idea for an element that can’t be found anywhere else. Designer Jake Steward recalls the swing seating we built for our Kingston project “It was the client’s idea to have swing seating around the outdoor bar. Like all our shade structures, this pergola is fully custom-designed and built, but typically appliances and furniture are bought prefabricated. The swing seating was such a fun idea but we didn’t see anything like it on the market so we designed and built them ourselves.”

Celebrating Project Diversity:

From sprawling rural properties to steeply sloping lakeside properties to smaller city lots, our projects come in every shape and size. The same is true for aesthetics; each client has their own unique taste and we love designing impeccable spaces to match their style. The diverse range of projects we have undertaken keeps us challenged and pushing the boundaries of landscape design. We are grateful for the opportunity to work on everything from cozy backyard retreats to expansive entertainment spaces.

Gratitude for the Future:

As proud as we are of our past projects, we’re equally excited to see what the future holds. Our commitment to designing and building unique outdoor living spaces is just getting started. We can’t wait to see what upcoming projects will have in store for us; new challenges, inspiration, and the opportunity to continue this journey with new clients.
