Wish List: Laminar Jets and a Lakeside Lanai
It’s December in Michigan. The days are short and cold and our thoughts are naturally turning towards warmth and coziness. Fireside chats, warm drinks, and puzzles gain an appeal they lacked all summer. For our clients at Sadie Shore, the allure of outdoor living knows no seasonal boundaries. On a picturesque lakeside property, the Sadie Shore project stands as a testament to the art of designing outdoor living spaces for year-round enjoyment.
Making a Splash: Laminar Jets for Shoreline Appeal
The captivating design begins with the graceful arch of laminar jets creating shoreline appeal. Spanning the property's shoreline, the five jets run off a lake pump recirculating the water and adding a touch of playfulness to Sadie Shore.
Two-Story Retreat: Second-Story Oasis and Ground-Level Getaway
To the left, an expansive balcony gracefully extends from the second story. A stairway leads to the ground level, where the heart of the Ventures build unfolds. The covered patio beneath features recessed lighting, ceiling fans, and a comfortable lounge area with a view of the lake. The raised patio extends beyond the covered portion, with additional lounge chairs, ideal for soaking up the sunlight and the lakeside scenery.
Fireside Elegance: Unveiling the Central Lounge
At the heart of the build lies an uncovered fireside lounge, a captivating centerpiece featuring an arched design and a central gas-fueled fire feature spanning ten feet. The elongated fire means no one has to choose between a cozy seat and a view of the lake. The pavers are laid in four large rectangles, like giant stepping stones, that traverse this central space like a bridge, connecting the covered patio on the left to the lanai on the right. The entire area is bathed in the soft glow of strung market lights, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. It is an idyllic spot to warm up after a summer dip or sip a hot drink on a cold winter’s night.
Lakeside Lanai: A Remarkable Four Seasons Room
To the right lies the lanai, a space that effortlessly merges indoor and outdoor living. Floor-to-ceiling glass accordion doors grace two full walls, allowing for a seamless transition between an open-air lanai and a fully enclosed sunroom during colder months. The lanai features a gas-fueled fireplace and an all-weather TV, providing a comfortable retreat in any season. Unobstructed views make this the perfect vantage point for watching a game of pond hockey or warming up after ice skating.
Arches serve as a common thread in Sadie Shore's design. From the laminar jets to the archways of the covered patio and the footprint of the fireside lounge. The lanai's roofline reflects the same beautiful arch with it’s graceful slope, contributing to the project's cohesive architectural theme.
